Holiday Season ~ Indigo Style
Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanzaa, Winter Solstice... whichever holiday
you celebrate you can do it with “Indigo style.” Indigo Children
are part of every culture, on every continent celebrating their family’s
holidays while living their purpose of raising the earth’s vibration to
a higher level of love, peace and tolerance of all. What better time to
integrate your child’s beliefs with your traditional celebration?
For a short time the whole world is magical. It is acceptable to believe
in elves, fairies, healing, miracles, light, acceptance and love. It is
an incredibly open time in which different traditions and celebrations
are on every street corner. Heart chakras are open!
How can you color your traditional celebration….Indigo?
1. Discuss how Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Jesus. Explain
how Jesus was aware of the power of the spirit flowing through him and
used it to heal. It is said that his vibration was so high that just his
presence in a village would heal people even if they did not know he was
there.
Give it Indigo style and take turns trying to
feel energy. Discuss how you feel in the company of different people
with different energy. Discuss healing.
2. Take a night to discuss the celebration of Chanukah, the Festival of
Lights which starts on December 25th this year. Set the table with a
candle and tell the story of how the Maccabees had only enough oil to
burn for one day, yet miraculously, it burned for eight days, the time
needed to prepare a fresh supply of oil for the Menorah. Discuss
miracles in your family’s life.
Give it Indigo style and discuss what light
means to you. Talk about how you can use white light for protection.
3. Take a day to explain that one of the 7 principals of Kwanzaa which
starts on December 26th is Kujichagulia (Self-Determination). It reminds
you to define yourself, name yourself, create for yourself and speak for
yourself.
Give it Indigo style by discussing your
throat/voice chakra and visualize filling it with blue to help you speak
for yourself.
4. Discuss Bodhi Day, usually observed on December 8 or the Sunday
immediately preceding it. Explain how Siddhartha Gautama sat for 8 days
meditating and then presented the founding principles of Buddhism.
Buddha-dharma is the realization of the oneness of life.
Give it Indigo style by discussing what oneness
of life means to your family and lead a short meditation. Let your child
lead the meditation.
Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanzaa, Winter Solstice... whatever holiday
you celebrate you can do it with “Indigo style”.
